I try to cut through the monotony, the daily blues the job the friends who don't reply the quitting booze the greying hairs and crows feet the arguments that never reach a boiling point the tick of time the same old faces in a line the time alone that I can't find the lack of sleep the harsh daylight the weekend anxiety the weekday sobriety the takeaways the body shame the unrun runs the mirror face the songs that I try to write, the clarity I never find, the part of me that thinks it's young this body that feels overrun

I watch the news, get angry with the TV
I don't trust these leaders with anything
I watch the recommended films on Netflix
